The AN/AAR-44B is currently deployed on active-mission aircraft. The sensor unit electronics are upgraded to provide increased detection range, with field-proven reliability and performance with pinpoint threat resolution. Covert treat warning is fully compatible with EMCON operations. There is a high probability of detection and low false-alarm rate with long-range detection for maximum time to counter missiles. The system is operational over the entire flight envelope with variable sensor configurations for hemispheric or spherical field of view.
