AeroMACS Overview
The L3Harris AeroMACS communication system was approved by the FAA and meets the rigorous FAA requirements and compliance standards. This system is an extension of the L3Harris FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) program which provides the FAA with a secure managed service network to enable communications of critical National Airspace System (NAS) operations voice, data, and video. An example of how the L3Harris AeroMACS solution is used by the FAA includes providing a wireless communication system for Aircraft Surface Detection data to facilitate runway traffic management for Air Traffic Controllers at airports throughout the United States.
